About

“We start with your story — it’s ok not to know how the problem began.”

You don’t need to know for us to begin. Maybe you’ve carried something painful for a long time — the weight of trauma, the wreckage of addiction, the quiet grief of a relationship that isn’t what it was supposed to be. Maybe you’ve tried to push through it on your own, or you’ve wondered if healing is even possible for someone like you. I believe it is. I’ve seen it happen, again and again, in the lives of the people I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside. My name is Lola Miller, and for more than 12 years I’ve been offering counselling and psychotherapy grounded in both evidence-based clinical practice and Christian faith. I believe that God desires wholeness for every person — and that healing the mind, the heart, and the spirit are not separate journeys. I work with men and women equally, and I meet people exactly where they are, without judgment. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 31 years working with individuals with disabilities and their families — 15 of those in government service. That work taught me how to truly listen, how to advocate, and how to sit with people in their most difficult moments. It also showed me that the world changes when people are given the support they deserve. That conviction brought me back to school and eventually into this practice. My approach is collaborative, not prescriptive. Only you know what needs to change, and only you can tell me whether therapy is working. Together, we’ll explore what’s happened to you, how it lives in your body and your mind, and what strategies will actually fit your life. We regularly check in — because real healing isn’t a straight line, and I want to make sure our work is genuinely helping. Depending on what you’re navigating, we will probably draw on a number of therapies: Cognitive Behavioural, Narrative, Emotionally Focused approaches, Somatic Experiencing, Hypnotherapy, and Guided Imagery. I’ll explain what we are using so you always understand why we’re doing it. I serve individuals, couples, and families in Emerald Park and Regina — and anywhere you are through secure telehealth. Credentials: Lola A. Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Statistics and Psychology from the University of Regina (1982), a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counselling from Briercrest Seminary (2015), and is a Certified Professional Counsellor with the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors and Psychotherapists (#20230395). She was also a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist with the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (2018–2022) and stays current with regular training about partner trauma, addictions and new approaches to depression and anxiety.
